Despite its very dark color, this is a delicate tasting tea. It really does not need sugar, and if you add a little too much, that is all you taste. If it had a little more depth, strength and complexity, I would give it five stars. Probably for many, it will be a five-star tea. It is delicious, but just a little too light tasting for me. Still I will order this tea again because variety is nice.

Only a teaspoonful of the broken up tea is needed for about half a litre. Colour of the tea is deep amber (very pleasing), aroma + flavour is mild and earthy, almost no finish/after taste. The packaging was smaller than expected (compared to the ones I am used to buying from Chinese grocery stores) and it comes with a plastic ziplock bag to keep the tea in once it has been opened.

This tea is smooth which little surprise me for new raw Pu Erh ; compress with buds of tree, nice green smell. Just little more of a bit broken.

This a reallt great pu-erh tea, however the issue I have is that it's not really that bitter. Which makes sense it's been aged for a long time. If you like bitter then perhaps find something else. If you smooth then go for this. I still really enjoy it, so I'll be keeping it.

This is a fine tea for the price they are asking and very good with proper gongfu technique, and is a great place for beginners to practice with something inexpensive but still worthwhile. Now some of the really nice (and expensive) pu-erh teas will blow your mind and leave you literally speechless after every steep, and this isn't one of those. Someone who isn't careful about how they steep their tea is likely to think that this is one note and not a very interesting note at that. However, if you use the right ratio of tea per water, take care to time your steeps, and make sure the water is piping hot before every steep, and of course take the time to pay attention to the tea as you drink it, you'll be surprised at how much this has to give. Every steep is a little different, and I found this tea going from sour to aromatic to sweet to bitter and back over the course of seven or eight steeps. Look up how to do proper gongfu style steeps and you'll spend hours enjoying this tea.

It's definitely got an interesting smell and taste to it, almost reminds me of a swamp or pond smell mixed with tea. Was nice to have a cheap option to delve into the world of fermented teas with and would recommend this for others who want to get a general idea and do the same. Being my first, I can't give the greatest opinion but I have a feeling this is more of a mild taste than bold and funky.

I should preface that this was my first time trying Pu-erh, and I was pleasantly surprised. When I opened the package, like the American I am, I was put off by the smell. It was like if i went outside and stuck my nose deep in the grass and breathed in.However! Once brewed properly, (thanks to a good google search) the tea has almost no smell, and almost no taste. It does have a mildly sweet aftertaste. I didn't sweeten it with anything, and honestly, this tea doesn't need it.The smell does come back a little when the tea starts to cool, so if you are sensitive to smells like I am, its best to drink it quickly!I love his tea! Its a wonderful, unique experience.

Not a very strong taste, but also no fragrance or chemical taste either. Balanced, I’ll leave it for a minute an a half each time, and it turns out good. Remember you will need to pour hot water on it first, discard the water and let the tea leaves come alive, so to say, before making your actual cup.

You crumble a teaspoon of the tea off the cake (try a fork) and can make 3 -4 cups of tea with one teaspoon by re-using the leaves. I avoid caffeine so my Chinese friends say to toss the first cup (washes away the caffeine) and drink the second and third. My husband actually drinks the first cup for its healthbenefits. It smells nice and the first couple of cups are pretty strong. I re-wrap the tea round in the paper it came in and put the package in a plastic bag.I use a fork to chip

I'm used to large leafed pu-erh tea, which, for long time tea drinkers, indicates quality. This has a nice smooth taste. It sometimes takes a while to find the right leaf to water ratio. It's missing the very distinctive smoky and earthy pu-erh taste that I associate with pu-erh. It's still a good, dark tea. High caffeine content without the intensity of coffee. It does not have the organic seal although it is advertised as organic.

I recommend this tea based on the following:1. Arrived quickly and packaged well.2. Nicely pressed tea cake.3. Tea has a pleasant yet bold earthy taste; the taste is somewhat woody.4. The smell of the tea cake is similar to the taste. It's fresh and not musty at all.5. The tea has a nice color.6. I have got about six maybe more steeps per serving. The first steep is one minute; adding a minute for each steep.7. Overall, great tea for what you pay for. However, I was little disappointed that:1. The description of the tea indicates aged Puerh Tea but the box was stamped 20202. The description of the tea states organic. No where on the box does the word organic appear in English or Chinese.

This is a very nice pu'erh tea and has a better flavor than others in the same approximate price range. The art on the box is interesting.

If you have not had Pu-erh tea, you may be surprised at the difference in taste from other teas. This is an aged tea taken from very old trees. It generally comes in cakes, not loose leaves or tea bags although you can find those. Some Pu-erh teas draw very high prices, like rare old wines or whisky. There is a procedure for preparing it involving blanching the tea quickly, then transferring the leaves to the serving water to steep. There are guidelines on YouTube.
